Kazakhstan Startup Pitch Day was held on July 13, 2021, organized by the NURIS Innovation Cluster together with the Japanese association ROTOBO.
Six promising startups presented their projects to investors and representatives of large Japanese companies.
The founders of the startups presented their innovative solutions and answered questions from the participants online.

Anarbek Utegulov - Head of the Business Accelerator made a presentation on the Nazarbayev University Innovation Cluster at the online pitch session on behalf of NURIS.
Ten projects that have passed the NURIS Incubation and Acceleration programs, as well as projects implemented by the faculty of Nazarbayev University, were selected to participate in an online pitch session "Kazakhstan Startup Pitch Day" to address the representatives of major Japanese companies, within the cooperation with the Japanese Association for Trade with Russia and Newly Independent States (ROTOBO).

From June 8 to 23 each startup had individual mentoring meetings with Japanese experts in order to prepare presentations to Japanese companies.
Therefore, as a result of joint work, the following six startup projects were able to be presented at the online pitch session "Kazakhstan Startup Pitch Day":
Teacherslab
A marketplace for teachers that allows them to sell and buy authoring teaching materials.
Okoo
An interactive online educational programming platform with artificial intelligence for personalized learning.
Optoculus
A system for protection and monitoring of critical facilities.
Emotion
An online platform that connects users by purpose and interest through participation in various thematic challenges with the most effective communication and support for participants.
Opusplace
A single platform for office management: from office products and services to any business needs.
HCF
Conversion of coal into liquid hydrogenated fuel, which is cheaper, more environmentally friendly and has a higher energy value than coal and gas.
From July 19 to 23, 2021, startup projects that have aroused the interest of Japanese investors and business representatives will have an opportunity to meet online to discuss the possibility of further cooperation.
This is one of the NURIS activities to expand cooperation with foreign organizations to bring startup projects, graduates of the Nazarbayev University Innovation Cluster programs, to foreign markets.
Kazakhstan Startup Pitch Day was held with the support of SAMI, which is a unique platform supporting interaction between Russia, the CIS and Japan in the field of IT.
